The Habitat is home to many wonderful community offerings that provide a venue for a dynamic exchange between experts and the community at large. These events promote sustainable lifestyle choices and open minds to the beauty of our own backyards.
Past programs have included: cooking demonstrations with local chefs; a Sustainable Home and Garden Workshop Series, astronomy night with guided star gazing; evening lectures in our amphitheater with guest experts on topics ranging from bats to bees; and our ever-popular outdoor cinemas. In addition, we have hosted the Solar Home Tour and Sustainability Fair, the California Native Plant Society plant sale, and workshops for the community on candle and soap making, composting, vermiculture and garden cooking.
Dinner in the Vineyard is MEarth’s premier, annual fundraiser that benefits the thousands of students, teachers, neighbors and volunteers from across Monterey County who experience, learn, and grow with MEarth at the Hilton Bialek Habitat. On Saturday, June 9, 2012, MEarth will host its second-annual Dinner in the Vineyard fundraiserat Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley. The year’s event will be phenomenal – highlighted by a dinner beyond compare, by our Honorary Co-Chair, Chef Cal Stamenov, with locally-sourced sustainable food, featuring vegetables from The Habitat’s own organic garden!Last year’s attendees are still talking about the incredible meal, beautiful locale, terrific silent and live auction items, and community support.
